Smart Nation And Digital Government Group Appoints Government Chief Digital Technology Officer

Mr Chan Cheow Hoe, Deputy Chief Executive of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), will be appointed as Government Chief Digital Technology Officer (GCDTO) of the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO) with effect from 1 November 2018.
As the GCDTO, Mr Chan will serve as the head of profession for ICT engineers and be the digital technology advisor to Government. He will lead the development of the Government’s digital infrastructure, and capability and talent development in information and communication technology and smart systems (ICT&SS). He will also oversee the development of platforms to enable resource sharing and interoperability across Government, to drive the development and delivery of innovative government digital services for citizens and businesses.
The GCDTO will report directly to the Permanent-Secretary of the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group (SNDGG), and strengthen SNDGG’s role as the functional leader for ICT&SS.
Mr Chan will concurrently retain his appointment as the Deputy Chief Executive of GovTech. In this role, he will continue to oversee product management and development in GovTech.

I am confident that Cheow Hoe will lead the tech community well in realising the Public Service’s digital transformation and the Smart Nation outcomes in his new capacity as the Government Chief Digital Technology Officer,” said Mr Ng Chee Khern, Permanent-Secretary (Smart Nation and Digital Government) and Chairman of GovTech.
